Description: 
A Lync for Mac 2011 is a communications client that works in conjunction with Lync Server or Lync Online. It provides tools for communicating and collaborating with one or more users at once through a variety of methods.
  1. Communication tools: Users can talk to one user or a group of users through instant messaging (IM), voice, or video and can switch back and forth between modes. Users can see if other users are available, away, or busy within their contact list as well as within other Office for Mac applications like Outlook.
  2. Online meeting tools: Users can schedule, join, and invite participants to online meetings through Lync for Mac or within Outlook. Users can also join meetings directly from within an IM conversation. The Meet Now command allows users to start impromptu online meetings.
  3. Desktop-sharing tools: Users can share their desktops with one or more users at any time during a conversation. Users can also share files or grant control of their desktop to another user while sharing their desktop.
  4. Connectivity with other clients: Users of Lync for Mac can have IM conversations with contacts who use Lync 2010 or Communicator 2007 for Windows or public IM clients such as AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger.

This product is a full operating system, not an upgrade, offered through Microsoft's Get Genuine Windows Agreement for Small and Medium Organizations program. It is available only to correct scenarios in which an organization has an existing PC with one of the following operating systems installed on it:

  • Counterfeit, pirated, or otherwise illegal, unlicensed, or improperly licensed Windows operating system
  • Home Premium, Home Basic, or Starter editions of Windows 7 or Windows Vista
  • Home or Starter editions of Windows XP
  • Linux, FreeDOS, or other operating system

Once computers have genuine Windows, users can keep their current operating system up-to-date with the latest service packs and security updates by downloading them with Windows Update.

Eligible organizations may place only one request ever for Get Genuine products. Note: Since Get Genuine products are part of the Windows Desktop Operating Systems title group, an organization's request for them will reduce the number of operating system upgrade products it may request in its current two-year donation cycle.

Requests for Get Genuine products may not contain any other products. During check-out, the Get Genuine Windows Agreement for Small and Medium Organizations must be accepted on behalf of the organization.

Windows 7 Professional is the latest Microsoft operating system. It features enhanced performance, a simplified interface, expanded search capabilities, and more secure networking. This 64-bit version operates on a computer with a 64-bit processor and 64-bit drivers.

Service Pack 1 includes all previously released security, performance, and stability updates for Windows 7. Windows 7 Professional requires significant system resources, as detailed below. Special Rules for Get Genuine Product Requests

  • Eligible organizations may place only one request ever for Get Genuine products.
  • Requests for Get Genuine products may not contain any other products.
  • During check-out, the Get Genuine Windows Agreement for Small and Medium Organizations must be accepted on behalf of the organization.
    Software Assurance Not Included: Get Genuine products do not include the Software Assurance benefits that come with most other Microsoft software donations. If an organization installs a Get Genuine product, that product will not have the benefit of receiving a free upgrade to a newer version of Windows when it is released in the future. However, the Get Genuine product will provide a computer with a legal base operating system upon which Windows upgrade products that include Software Assurance benefits offered through PNGO Program can be installed. Additionally, organizations that request Get Genuine products will be able to downgrade their donation to earlier Windows OS versions at no cost through the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

    Choose Carefully: The administrative fee for this Get Genuine product is not refundable, and the product cannot be exchanged. Important Volume Licensing Information: With Windows 7, organizations can choose between two types of volume license keys for product activation: a Key Management Service (KMS) license key or a Multiple Activation Key (MAK). Organizations will be provided with a Key Management Service (KMS) key for Windows 7 by default on the Microsoft Volume Licensing website; that is, this is the only type of key an organization will see unless they request a MAK. A KMS key requires at least 25 computers on a network for activation.

    Organizations with fewer than 25 computers should request a MAK from the Volume Licensing website after receiving this product.

Symantec System Recovery 2011 is a backup and recovery solution that uses disk imaging technology to protect servers. It takes snapshots of entire hard disks that can be saved to almost any type of storage media or converted to virtual disks. When recovery is needed, these snapshots (called recovery points) can be restored to either the same hardware configuration or a different hardware setup.

Windows 7 Professional is the latest Microsoft operating system. It features enhanced performance, a simplified interface, expanded search capabilities, and more secure networking. This 64-bit version operates on a computer with a 64-bit processor and 64-bit drivers.

This is an upgrade product. To install this operating system, you must have a licenced installation of one of the following operating systems on the device where you are installing the upgrade: Windows Vista Enterprise, Business, or Ultimate; Windows XP Professional or Tablet PC; Windows 2000 Professional; Windows NT Workstation 4.0; or Windows 98. You cannot upgrade from the Home editions of Windows. Unless you are upgrading from Windows Vista, this installation requires a "clean install." This means that if the computer has an existing operating system, you must remove all operating system files and applications, install the system, and reinstall the applications. Windows 7 Professional requires significant system resources, as detailed below. Organisations will be provided with a Key Management Service (KMS) key for Windows 7 by default on the Microsoft Volume Licencing website; that is, this is the only type of key an organisation will see unless they request a MAK.

A KMS key requires at least 25 computers on a network for activation. Organisations with fewer than 25 computers should request a MAK from the Volume Licencing website after receiving this product. Acquiring the Licence Key and Installation Media : Installing this product requires a licence key and installation media. Instuctions for obtaining the licence key will be sent to your organisation email address after your eligibility has been verified and your administrative fee has been received. Installation media will be shipped to you free of charge.

The licence key allows you to use the installation media to install the product on as many computers as you have received donations for. This quantity is specified in the donation email sent to your organisation email address after your eligibility has been verified and your administrative fee has been received.
